personnally i think crobat is great, it became a standard of mine since you can get a zubat in the biggining of most of the games, so i always make usre i have one

Its in the Jhoto Pokedex. The Anime has nothing to do with that. They just wnated to show Jhoto Pokemon earlier.

Many Pokemon have been shown in the anime before the generation they were introduced in.
